Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Sayline ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Sayline macOS application and website (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Sayline grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to download, install, and use a copy of the Sayline application on a computer that you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business purposes.

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software.
• Share your license key with unauthorized third parties.
• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws).

Our IP: The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is and will remain the exclusive property of Sayline and its licensors.

Your Content: You retain full ownership of any text or audio content you create using Sayline ("User Content"). Because Sayline processes all audio locally on your device ("On-Device Processing"), we do not have access to, nor do we store, your dictations or transcripts. Your data remains entirely yours and private.

Payments for Sayline licenses are processed by our third-party payment processor, Polar.sh. By purchasing a license, you agree to their terms of service and privacy policy.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you are unsatisfied with the Service, please contact us at hello@sayline.app.

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Sayline makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the operation of the Service or the information, content, or materials included therein.

Specifically, while we strive for high accuracy, we do not guarantee that the speech-to-text transcription will be 100% error-free. You acknowledge that AI-based transcription may occasionally produce errors.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sayline shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; or (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service.

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the law, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
